Here are a several great ways to have fun this winter in Happy Valley.
Located in Boalsburg, less than 10 minutes from State College, Tussey Mountain is the premier place for winter fun in Happy Valley. Snowboarders and skiers will love Tussey's mix of beginner, intermediate and expert trails.
Tussey has seven trails for skiers and snowboarders and they stay open until 10 p.m. most nights. On weekdays, the mountain opens at 12 p.m., but on weekends and holidays, it opens at 9 a.m.
For those that want to learn to ski or snowboard, Tussey offers public and private lessons. Learn more here.
If you don't ski or snowboard, don't worry. You can still have fun on the slopes. The mountain has a snow tubing park with lanes as long as 1000 feet and as many as 100 snow tubes.
Tussey is now open for the season and remains open until early or the middle of March depending on the conditions.
Greenberg Ice Pavilion
Visit the Penn State Ice Rink for public skating sessions and affordable family fun. Adult tickets are $6 while youth 18 and under are $5.50. The Greenberg Ice Pavilion is located on Penn State's campus, near Pollock Halls. (Map)
Village Ice Rink

The weather outside may be cold, but the Penn State winter sports scene is hot all winter long.
